Reaching the Heart of Zambia

Reaching the Heart of Zambia is making a difference in the lives of the children orphaned by AIDS, as well as the children who have a parent suffering with HIV at home.  We are serving one soul at a time, loving these children with the love of Jesus Christ by meeting their physical and spiritual needs.  We want to teach them about salvation in Christ and disciple them to go and disciple others, creating a change in the culture of Zambia.

In the compound in Luanshya where Aaron Mulenga, a native Zambian, was called to minister 10 years ago, over 90% of the children have lost one or both of their parents to HIV/AIDS. These sweet children are often in the care of a grandparent who can barely afford to feed themselves, let alone an additional mouth to feed.  The elderly and children make up most of that community, the most vulnerable of a society.  There is much suffering and undernourishment, unemployment, drinking, robbery, prostitution, even murder.

But this can change. Through the POWER of the Gospel in action.  That is why Aaron Mulenga and his team have stepped in to help. . . with education, orphan homes, food and Bible studies.

This ministry has been like a fertile field. Every time we sow a little seed in it, we see spiritual growth happen. Hundreds of people have been saved and baptized through the showing of the Jesus Film. Hundreds of families and children have been transformed by the freshwater well next to the school. Teachers are now getting paid at the school for their efforts in ministering to these children. And most importantly, orphaned children, who had little hope of ever getting out of poverty, are now graduating and joining Zambian high schools and colleges with a solid Biblical foundation and a passionate faith. They know what God can do, they’ve seen it with their own eyes! I’m so excited to see the children and learn about all the amazing things God has done in their lives.

The Galicinski family became burdened for the children in Africa and really wanted to get involved on the ground-level — not through a large organization; but one-on-one, person-to-person with real relationships with people.

.

In 2016, the Lord opened the door for Jason,  Anna (age 13) and Micah (age 12) to travel to Zambia to meet Aaron and his children. During this trip we were able to get first hand experience of Zambia, the orphan home and the school.  They fell in love with Zambia and the people.  During their trip, the Lord provided beyond what was expected and they were able to help take Aaron’s ministry to the next level.
