Our History

In the spring of 2012 the mission agency EBM Canada was looking for new leadership to continue what was established in 1977 and lead forward with a contemporary vision.

September of the same year under the new name, missions 3D threshold, a new board of directors accepted the mantel of service.  They applied to the CRA for continuance compliance and expanded  administrative mechanics to include three action dimensions (3D).  With a new operating structure, revised budget, fresh branding and website, the fledgling charity began to take shape.

Discovery through education, Adventure through short-term experience and Service through commitment, both vocational and non-vocational, became the broader vision.

Three original missionary families (partners) on the field remained with the new organization.  In the next 2 years, 9 more partners were added serving in multiple capacities from vocational to short-term recurring service in Canada, United States, Germany, India, Niger, Bénin, Haiti, Israel, and Lebanon, including outreach to the Middle East and North Africa.

“April 2013 was the ministry launch event in Barrie, Ontario with over 100 attending breathing new life into an idea.”
